Assessments

At the initial planning and design stage an assessment is often necessary. This will help to eliminate risk, target works more effectively and justify proposals to the planning authorities. We offer various types of assessment:

  • Area Assessment: Historic development of an area, with a examination of the buildings, features and their setting
  • Building Assessment: Focuses on a specific building, defining its architectural or historic interest
  • Landscape Impact Assessment: Assessment of impacts of a proposed scheme on the historic environment.

A detailed archaeological record of a building (or group of buildings, or landscape, or part of a building) is often specified as a condition of

  • Historic building fabric and materials analysis and dating
